Vladimir Atanian
Artist for the A.R.T. evolution
Join Odyssey and Art encounter™ for the opening of Vladimir Atanian and meet this renowned artist during A.R.T.evolution and explore the depths of his work.
Vladimir Atanian is best known for his original paintings of oil and mixed media on canvas and his acrylic over clay sculptures and has had more than 200 exhibitions throughout his career. Vladimir’s elegant yet witty stylizing, clearly derived from Cubism, serves him well whether employed for a large stone carving for the side of a hotel or in colorful motifs painted on a small bronze.
Born in Yerevan, Armenia, Vladimir graduated in 1965 from Yerevan State Academy of Fine Arts, one of the best schools for the arts in the former Soviet Union. Just after graduating, Vladimir was invited to teach at the same Academy where he taught for more than 30 years. As one of the leading educators, he received professorship in arts and was a secretary of the Board of Directors of the Artists Union.
Vladimir has received many diplomas, awards and medals, including the State Award of Armenian Republic and Diamond Lifetime Achievement Award in California, 2007. In 1993, Vladimir founded “Atanian Art Center” in Glendale, California, which is well known as one of the best private art schools for pre-college preparation.
