Odyssey Lifestyle guests on the 1st Annual Food Festival at Sea enjoyed, explored and experienced the regional food, wine and art of Western Europe on board the Seven Seas Voyager.

As part of this spectacular voyage, the following Food Festival at Sea Enrichment Program
were offered:
  • “Cuisines of the Sun” explanation of local culinary traditions (lectures)
  • A welcome cocktail party on board the Voyager with Le Cordon Bleu chefs
  • Three Le Cordon Bleu intensive, hands-on cooking workshops during the voyage
  • Exclusive Le Cordon Bleu Circle of Interest tour—an onshore culinary experience starting with a visit to a local market and ending with the preparation of a delicious meal
  • Graduates will receive their own chef’s apron, hat, tea towel and a special LE
  • Le Cordon Bleu cookbook of classic recipes and a certificate of participation
  • Exclusive shore events for guests

Sep. 4 - 7, 09: Cooking with Raymond Blanc
A three-night program at Le Manoir Aux Quat Saisons, A Relais & Chateaux property located in Oxford, England, in conjunction with embarkation. Le Manoir is situated in a privileged location, within easy reach of London, Oxford and the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds. An ideal starting point for exploration of the beautiful south of England and all its treasures.

The program includes two cookery school courses taught by Raymond Blanc that provide a hands-on opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a practical and supportive learning environment, as well as being a holiday in the most luxurious and beautiful surroundings and a chance to make new friends.

Sep. 18 - 21, 09: Tastes of Bordeaux
Once known as Gaul, then later as Aquitaine, the region of Bordeaux in Southwest France is now known as the red wine capital of Europe. Wine tasting, gastronomy and charming French villages await this private tour. The Bordeaux wine region is made up of several areas including Pomerol, Graves, Medoc and Saint Emilion. The world’s best-known brandy comes from the region known as Cognac and a visit will be made to this peaceful countryside along the Charente River for sightseeing and sampling of local
vintages.

Day One: Friday, Sep. 18, 09
Upon disembarkation, guests will be transferred to the Nice airport for a flight to Bordeaux. Upon arrival at the Bordeaux airport, they will be met by their driver/guide and transferred to the hotel, Hostellerie de Plaisance, Saint Emilion. Following check-in, the guide will lead a walking tour of the charming hillside town. Wend along the narrow cobbled streets of the town to discover the unique 12th-century underground monolithic church (built into the pre-existing caves and quarries), a 14th-century cloister and a series of quaint squares. The evening
is leisure.

Day Two: Saturday, Sep. 19, 09
Upon disembarkation, guests will be transferred to the Nice airport for a flight to Bordeaux. Upon arrival After breakfast at the hotel, leave for Cognac, famous for its fine wine and liquor distilleries. The visit to each distillery will include a tasting of Cognac wines. The tour is followed by lunch in a local restaurant in the charming town of Cognac. Following lunch, drive to Bordeaux and check in at hotel Les Sources de Caudalie, Bordeaux Martillac. The rest of the day is yours relax or indulge in one of the hotel spa’s massages or famous vino therapy treatments.

Day Three: Sunday, Sep. 20, 09
Following breakfast at the hotel, Les Sources de Caudalie, Bordeaux Martillac, is a morning tour to the Pomerol and Graves region with two wine tastings along the way, then a drive to Bordeaux for lunch at a local restaurant before enjoying a city orientation tour. Departing Bordeaux, drive through the Margaux region along the Route des Chateaux. What better way to finish this day than with a wine tasting at the Château Haut Laffitte before returning to hotel. The evening is leisure.

Day Four: Monday, Sep. 21, 09
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the Bordeaux airport for flight to Paris and your connecting flight home.
